Do you judge other women’s engagement rings?

You’re trying to tell the world you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on...

I don’t wear my often either. I have two small boys and with the sunscreen, hand washing, dirt, etc my fingers and rings always felt gritty. Most of the time I just wear my wedding band.

I have a diamond solitaire but I like the modern trend of going with other colored stones - like sapphire, ruby, etc.

That you're not married?

You see a wedding band but no engagement ring, and you think that person isn’t married?

That I'd like to be your friend.

Me too.

LOL, no. The best judgment to me is no diamond ring at all. Shows you weren't bought by your man, aren't materialistic or status obsessed, and probably kept that money for a nicer home or vacation that enriched you as a person.

I don’t wear mine either but the fact that you’re curious what we think tells me you’re lame as hell

Not PP, but you’re reading and posting in a thread about what people think about other women’s engagement rings, so you can go ahead and put that shit away.

Most of these large rings do not have quality diamonds.

So I am 19:22. If you saw my large-ish ring what conclusion do you come to?

NP here. That you are insecure, materialistic, status obsessed, and not a feminist/not interested in women's rights. I'm sure I can be wrong, but not thinking through something like this, the implications for diamond mining, perpetuating the patriarchy, etc. are just so stupid. Plus, a diamond solitaire is a silly piece of jewelry for everyday wear. I see women wearing this $20k ring while they prance around outside in basically their pajamas.

Do you mean yoga pants?

Not a jewelry person, finds them impractical, not a diamond person, probably financially practical. Or, to the contrary, has a gigantic rock that is worth too much to wear with any regularity. IDK, this was my mom. Bored by the concept, not super into jewelry. Has a gold wedding band and my father never had a ring at all. Not a cheater, think Prince William who also flat out doesn't own one. It's a relatively recent thing men have worn them at all.

Exactly. I don't really like diamonds in any case. Not my style.

my mom didn't have an engagement ring only a wedding band (an interesting one actually...) i never realized until well into my 20s that people got engagement rings too. big diamond rings are not my style so i'm not impressed when i see one...and my first thought is that they should have donated money to people who really need it. but that's judgmental and i try not to care really.
