Do you judge other women’s engagement rings?

Yes it is. Whether you like it or not, it is.

No it isn’t. A large group of people can afford lab diamonds now and very few people can tell the difference.

Diamonds are not an investment

Walk out that door whether it is Lab or Natural stone you just lost a ton of money.

Lab's are worthless on the resale market. However if you buy a Natural stone in today's market you are not smart financially.

No one can tell the difference they are the same. Anyone who says they can is not telling the truth.

Labs are cheep one carat for a young couple is not that expensive especially if the setting is yellow or white gold. Platnium of course is slightly more.

Places like Blue Nile, Clean Origin, and or Brian Gavin hell even NY diamond district this is what one should do if in the market.

Diamonds have always been a scam.

Do I judge the size of a ring? Yes I do. Does it matter what I think, nope.

Sometimes when I see a woman with a tiny diamond I wonder how cheap her husband must be to not bother to get her something nicer.

The larger the diamond the more I think her husband wanted to impress her/ show his love. Also that he’s rich.

This was either posted by a really insecure husband, or a really insecure wife. I can't imagine caring what anyone else thinks of my ring. Though I do know some people who think that just because (in their case, their husband) has a certain "title/role", that she (again, in the case I know) have "certain items", which cracks me up. If you think that way, I don't have much in common with you, is all.

I have a beautiful ring I never wear. What does that make me?

Goodness no. Life is too short. You people and your comparison and competition, you sound like you feel miserable most of the time.
Anonymous
Absolutely not, what a pathetic thing to do. OTOH I wear a 1 ct diamond, sure, people can go ahead and judge me all they want.

Anything too big reeks of desperation and insecurity, just my opinion.

I love how this response proclaims PP would never judge (what a pathetic thing to do!) and then goes right ahead and judges 😬 Classic DCUM.

I never got one because I hate raised stones on my finger, and get annoyed with the stone rotating around and catching on things. I have my great grandmother's ruby ring where the stones are set flat into the band, and I like that. I wear a plain band most of the time, if I remember to put it on.

Anonymous wrote:Lol. This is such a dumb American thing invented by DeBeers. So many cultures in the world don't even have engagement rings, and Americans never even wore them before the 20th century.

We don't even wear wedding bands. Definitely didn't want to piss away thousands of dollars on stupid carbon that's the same thing as in charcoal and pencil lead. Really stupid brainwashing. Much better using that money to buy a house or invest.

Americans are so dumb. Blowing tens of thousands in debt to buy a ring and have a big wedding. Nothing like staring out life in massive amounts of debt on top of studentoans all because you both got into the studios wedding industry's propaganda that you need engagement rings and weddings.

This is so comically pathetic. Tell us how very much you care about this without actually telling us...

I agree with PP. I'm certainly not jealous of large diamonds.

I hate raised stones too. I wanted an emerald cut east west inlay style type of ring, but it just seemed kind of pointless in the end. Years later I’m glad I opted for something simple

I always do. It's one of the first ways I can assess my clients. Smaller ring=stingy husband, harder sell. Larger ring=she is calling the shots. Might still be a difficult sell if she likes to bargain but I can work with that.

6 year old troll. OP is divorced by now and exDH bought another big diamond for his AP.
