What do you expect from APS staff (option/neighborhood) on 4/30?

The staff is as bad at lying as it is at projections and analysis.

Are these internet issues going to last until COB tomorrow?

I’m never one to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they are in the middle of a move to Syphax. APS has had space there for other things, but who knows if moving offices and getting everything connected has been an issue. I’m sure the best and the brightest aren’t setting this stuff up.

The best and brightest aren't involved in any aspect of this. Yes, I mean the staff doing the so-called analysis.

That is all true. But two problems:

1) Is there really no other APS facility that has access to the APS website to post new documents? Not a single other building they could have brought the document to on a thumb drive to upload it? After all, they were able to send the SchoolTalk email from somewhere that has an internet connection. Given how much drama they've caused already with totally botched process, that's the least they could have done out of respect for the community. Assuming, that is that they have an analysis ready to go and aren't lying through their teeth because they realized they screwed up. Again.

2) This wouldn't have happened if they staff/SB hadn't gotten cute and decided to hold off on posting the analysis until after open office hours, when all of the IT staff had left for the day. They gave themselves no room for hitches like this because of their refusal to be forthright with the community.

It's hard to post something that is still being written.

At this point, APS can’t put anything new in its web site until this is up.

Thanks for the laughs, folks. Your comments put ArlNow to shame tonight.

As much as I want to know about this, if there are issues with the Extended Day Registration Site tomorrow I am going to be really upset. Last year was a huge pain in the rear. Let's hope the connectivity issues don't persist.

I didn’t even think about that!! You are totally right. The past two years the registration system has crashed. And people panicked because some schools have waitlists.

Even if this hadn't happened, you have to assume they will screw up extended day registration. It's an APS tradition.

Oh I DARE them to try to turn McKinley into an option school where only people who apply will attend. I can't wait to see how they sell that one! "We don't have any fields or places where your kids can play soccer or have a race, BUT we can fit 800 of them in here! There is no outside, but there is plenty of inside!! Now who's in?!!" Maybe this is the best chance McKinley has of getting to under 700 by 2020.

I really hope the Extended Day registration site is not hosted on the same server as these new maps or nothing is going to work tomorrow morning.

If McKinley is such a shithole, shouldn’t you want it turned into an option school so your kids can go elsewhere?
