Have you had 15 minutes of fame?

I didn't actually tell anyone in my family that I was going to be on national TV because I had no idea how it was going to turn out and I was blogging about politics, which I don't discuss with my very large extended family. It turned out really well and I was bummed that most of my family didn't see it, but an elderly paternal uncle was watching and bragged about me for the next decade, which was gratifying. I have it on VCR somewhere. ?

I’m gonna need you to convert that to a DVD or .mov file so it will be of utility to your relatives that have no idea what a VHS tape is.

I had a kiss cam on me once. Does that count? Wasn’t a full 15 minutes though.

I don't think any of these count as 15 minutes.

I would love to see a pic of Bobcat girl, fried tuna, pine cone lady, and the woman who posted about the kid pooping in her toilet and making a mess in her powder room. Those posters definitely had their 15 min of fame.

You forgot the lady who cuts up her poop with plastic utensils.

LOL, actually I thought of her. But decided I really don’t want to know what she looks like. I would never eat potluck food from her house again. Even if she did use plastic utensils.

What would you consider 15 min of fame then?

Some of them probably do count as 15 mins but unfortunately it's the posters who've refused to provide enough detail for us to appreciate it.

I was on the Kojo Nnamdi show once.

My dog has, lol. We do competitive agility, so she was demo dog for a national news story a few years ago. She's also modeled for a couple different dog related companies.

But it paved my way at the firm. Top schools, clerkship, above average writing skills, good on my feet etc etc, but guess what partners and clients always wanted to talk about?

That's not even close to 15 minutes of fame. You were known within your firm...that's it.

Yeah that's weird. Not 15 minutes of fame at all.
