Why are the British so rude?

Anonymous
I'm British and I fully agree, most British people are rude, but not just that, they are generally xenophobic.

The difference is, they practice their rudeness freely because guns are illegal in the Uk and the worst that usually happens is someone is rude back or tries to punch them in the face.

Yes, it's a generalization but most definitely the British are known to be rude. Rude, judgmental, classist, really just snotty brats. The young and the old.

I think they are just insecure at heart. This is why they need to be judgmental, put on 'airs', act better than then next person. Their heritage and legacy is based on colonialism. Robbing, enslaving and stealing from other countries. Not much substance there.

Magna Carta? Rule of law? What heritage and legacy are you thinking of?

It's not polite to kill people.

This kinda makes sense. I grew up in Texas, and we were always warned to drive politely becasue someone might be armed. Frankly, I'll take the guns if that's what it takes.

See, I was thinking the opposite. What if you or somebody doesn't drive politely? If you see the car/bike threads on here, you see that people perceive jackass moves constantly in traffic. And yes, people are armed, and yes, people get killed, on the regular, in road rage events. So, thinking others may be armed is not working in keeping drivers polite.

Nothing happens, actually. Road rage deaths are super-rare. But the freedom is worth it, honestly (and no, I don't own a gun).

The British are the very opposite of putting on airs. They are rigid in their societal standards. But the worst thing you can do as a brit is to put on a posh accent and try to act superior. You would be so ridiculed. Nothing false about British manners. The manners are internalized from birth and standard across the country. It's whats kept them going for centuries.

We, on the hand, are boorish and ignorant and now we have an orangutang running our country. We are the rudest, most spoiled populace that has ever existed excepting perhaps, the Romans.

We were the first country to abolish slavery, never allowed slavery in the UK, and were instrumental in suppressing the slave trade.
