That puts Trump in an interesting position. If they are able to put together a case on his son, Trump would have to decide whether to cut him loose (unlikely), resign to help him avoid prosecution, or I guess prepare to possibly pardon him, which would effectively end his presidency in disgrace.

It would show his base what a great family man he is

Actual,p vote tampering doesn't seem quite so far fetched now, does it?

I expect some of the information in the report is directly from Manafort, who is finally coming clean.

“This was an effort to get opposition research on an opponent in an American political campaign from the Russians, who were known to be engaged in spying inside the United States,” Richard Painter said Sunday on MSNBC.

“We do not get our opposition research from spies, we do not collaborate with Russian spies, unless we want to be accused of treason.”

Painter said the Bush administration would not have allowed the meeting, which was attended by Trump Jr., White House senior adviser and President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and then-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, to happen.

“If this story is true, we’d have one of them if not both of them in custody by now, and we’d be asking them a lot of questions,” he said. “This is unacceptable. This borders on treason, if it is not itself treason.”

This shit has got to be over soon, right?

I mean, how much more do we need?

Why aren't Uday, Manafort, Kushner in jail? For the same reason Trump hasn't been impeached yet! The Republicans couldn't give a sh*t about corruption, treason, you name it. The criminals are running the country, and the people who can stop it, the Republicans in the House and Senate, are sitting by and letting all this sh*t happen with no consequences whatsoever for the perps.

I honestly don't think Republicans care. It's like they've decided that it's too politically correct to obey the rule of law. Even if Donnie Jr. gets convicted, his dad would pardon him in a nanosecond.

Yes but once he is pardoned, he can't plead the fifth and has to testify about everything involving his dad. If he lies about that, it's a new crime.

And can I just say, Don Jr is such a moron! His "explanation" was an admission of treason! Even the lowest mob goon knows when to shut up!

"Meeting with donors" that day.

What's going to be maddening is that once Mueller comes out with a report shows gobs of evidence of illegal activities and a recommendation that all sorts of people associated with trump should be prosecuted, trump will just issue pardons for them all. Heck, no matter what happens, I bet he issues blanket pardons for everyone on his way out the door. He's all about protecting himself regardless of the consequences for the country.

Or option 4 - the GOP doesn't care and everyone carries on.

Worse than that is all the damage being done to the country in the meantime.

Exactly. They get a useful fool - or fools - with Trump and his family. The GOP gets power and agrees that Trump gets to do whatever the hell he wants even at the expense of our country, our laws, our sovereignty, our tax dollars, our international standing, our civil discourse... the list goes on. So much of what is important to our country and part of our American legacy squandered by the power mad GOP who will put up with Trump for expedience while they pillage this country.

Trump's tweet while wrong, just confirmed the story is true.
