But it doesn't follow from that that attempts to invoke them either don't or can't have have an effect on people, particularly the sensitive or fragile sort. Cf. "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus." If the Ouija Board didn't have some kind of effect, it would not have survived for so long or be such a compelling cultural referent. It manifestly touches something psychological in many people.

Maybe it is nothing more than the dangers of amateur hypnotism, but, if you play with fire, whether real or imaginary, some will be burned. Caution warranted, I'd ban the board without a second thought.

Wait... what??

Of course we have!

I heard it straight from my sister's, uncles, postman's, dog & I believe him, he wouldn't lie to me... bark!

My teacher even commented once that she saw Satan in Stephen King's eyes. Supernatural is nothing more than a good TV show. Here in the real world, oujia board are right up there with superstitions and talking donkeys. After 18 years of brainwashing, I'm really quite over the idea of anything outside the tangible.

Numbers 22:28

My 3rd grade teacher in Catholic school, a nun, told our class they were evil and made by witches. I'm still kind of scared of them because of it.

Speaking of Ouija boards, I got a new one the other day and when I opened it up, the planchette was dirty!

(Some old school DCUM humor)

I had the Parker Brothers one and it never worked.

You have to have a hand made wooden board, then it must be cursed by a witch.

Oh, please. This is a fake post.

My DD's ultra catholic school actually told them in religion class that Ouji boards are evil. No lie.

More or less evil than birth control? Like mortal sin evil?

Oh, birth control was murder and, I think, worse that ouji-ing but I'm not totally sure. DD is a teen now and doesn't speak as freely as she used to about these things.
