"Don't tread on me" flag. Is there any objectionable connotation to it? (as with Confederate flag)

I'll tolerate anything but your intolerance.

Tolerant doesn't mean accepting racist views. Conservative Christians should be very aware how Jesus did not tolerate greed or hatred, but He loved the person, just not what they did or said that was sinful. I don't think anyone should tolerate racist views, unless I guess if you are a racist.

As I already stated, you're intolerant.

Thank you for confirming that for all of us.

I'm sure they have no idea of its political affiliation.

You do realize that the term "riced-up" is flat-out racist, right? You are so ignorant and hypocritical.

Why can't you control your emotions?

Maybe other people view the flag differently than a narrow minded liberal.

Most people don't give a flying F about stuff like this.

I thought it was a really cool looking license plate.

It seems to be strongly related to aggressive and inconsiderate drivers. I mentally associate it with the "ME, ME, ME!" attitude, but that's not limited to one political affiliation.

If you're offended by a mainstreamed phrase linking Asians to eating rice -- horror of horrors! -- I can't help you.

I live in VA and used to have a license plate with the don't tread on me flag -- I loved the look of the flag and its history. I'm not a redneck or uneducated, BTW (just responding to posts above). Around 2009 it became clear that the conservative fringe had decided to adopt this flag for themselves -- so I stopped using it. Makes me sad that they ruined a cool thing. To answer your question, I would not display this flag in DC -- it has come to mean that you're a tea party/Nazi type.

The connotation to me was the 13 colonies. Now I associate it with the Tea Party.

Same. (New Hampshire, especially.)

Cars don't eat rice.

I think the shape of the snake in the Virginia license plate looks like a pile of poop.

It's the new rebel flag

Only because you say it is.

No, because racists co-opted it. You can't save it just because you don't mean it that way, any more than you can rehabilitate Pepe the Frog or swastikas.

Isn't this the Libertarian Flag?

It's one of the associations. I like it.

I have a nice impression of the people with those license plates. To me, they signal a person who cares about our country and doesn't want to see people's rights trampled by an aloof, uncaring bureaucracy.
