Indeed, I was around and as an adult then, I never considered her a sex symbol. Maybe if you were still in middle school at that age - maybe? But if I think of the "sexiest" women from back then I think Jessica Alba, Beyonce, Gisele, Halle Berry, JLo, Salma Hayek, Scarlett Johansson, etc. And probably dozens more who were way “hotter” than Britney. She had a few fun songs and was a good dancer, but that's about it.

I'm not one of the pp's but I'm a year older than Britney (and was an "urban" young adult ). I wasn't even a fan and but can admit the girl was everywhere. Are you the same PP who mentioned Salma Hayek as being a bigger sex symbol than Spears in 99-03 time frame? If so, you have a skewed memory of that time.
