| I saw lot of bad reviews about Roberto Clemente middle school. Can anyone tell how is the magnet program (Math Science) in this school? |

Did you go to the Open House? We did and were scared. I have a friend whose son has been beaten up several times by non-magnet kids at Clemente. Unless your middle school is equally bad, I'd stay local. My kids regular middle had several acceptances to magnet. |

We received acceptance letter from Clemente SMACS. We have been talking to lot of parents from our neighborhood/colleagues for past 3 days, they did not mention any such concern regd Clemente. Accepted the fact that it is not a good rated school, but the center program for SMACS/Humanities provide much better enrichment than home school (our home school is rated high, it was a touch decision - but decided to go to Clemente). Note that Clemente is also IB Candidate school and the authorization to be part of IB world school should come in around July 2017, right in time when DS gets into the 6th grade. |
