| Thank you PP that posted today was letter date. Wishing you guys best luck for your children too. |
| Any chance the letters have already been mailed? |
I suppose that's possible, but I'm figuring they go out at the end of the day and so processed at post office on Saturday at earliest. I think Monday/Tuesday is a more likely delivery date. But I'm just guessing like everyone else. |
Two years ago they were mailed on a Friday and my child received the letter from one of the magnets Saturday and the other on Monday. |
| Both yes's? Or no on Monday? |
| People dispute it, but in the past, people get Acceptances first... |
This isn't true. If you look at the other thread about magnet letters arriving, it is clear that people received rejections that first weekend 2 years ago. |
So, those who may not receive the mail tomorrow may expect rejection? Do they have to choose super bowl weekend to send this out?

Here is the thread referenced above.

I hate it when people make this statement year after year and send others into a panic. I know people who have received acceptances and rejections on the same day, rejections first followed by an acceptance, acceptance first followed by a rejection, and acceptances on different days. Nothing is guaranteed with the mail system - 2 years ago when letters were mailed on a Friday, some people get their notices until the following Wed or Thurs. |
| This is OP. It is comforting to see how many other parents are as anxious about this as I am! I'm really hoping my DD gets in, but I'm bracing myself to accept that if she doesn't - the program isn't a right fit for her. We were very disappointed when she didn't get into the HGC (by a long shot), and she's had an incredible experience at her feeder school in compacted math and math Olympiad and participating in the SGA. |
No, no, no, no! Every year this happens on this board because of misinformation and people freak out. I guarantee you that when someone on here posts the first acceptance--and who knows, it may be tomorrow, it may be Monday, or even later--everyone who does not receive word on the same day will think they're getting a rejection and it's just not true. The mail is inconsistent. |
Oops, I should've read through the whole thread because I see this person just made the same point that I made above. |
The mail is inconsistent AND people don't run to DCUM to report rejections, they just don't, it's a biased sample. |
Excellent point |
