OP keep in mind when she turns 18 and becomes an adult in the eyes if the law she will be charged and sentenced as an adult.

So you would be ok if another kid hit your kid with a car either killing or causing severe injury? You'd let it go if other parent assured you they would talk to their kid about driving at a more reasonable speed? REALLY???????

IOW, DH is still interested in being a parent, whereas OP is ready to hang it up.

God I hope so. What you describe doesn't sound like parenting, it sounds like trying to be your kids friend.

Wrong. For all traffic misdemeanors (which make up 98% of traffic offenses) a 16 year old is dealt with the same as a 46 year old.

It's not a misdemeanor when hit or kill someone.

No. You are not. 25 mph is slow.

The OP said that her driver was going 44 in a 25. Nothing about hitting or killing someone dumb ass.

OP said her driver didn't care and would be an adult this year. When going 44 won't be easy to avoid hitting a pedestrian. Won't be a misdemeanor when you hit someone. Drivers attitude shows she's clueless about why some zones are 25. She hasn't hit anyone yet but her attitude is dangerous.
