Stoned on pot?! That is insane. Pot doesn't alter your mind that much. |

The fact that her story kept changing assures me she knows
something about what occurred that fateful evening. Why would someone being questioned about a murder purposely point the finger at someone else....??! Because they are guilty & want to distract their detractors attention elsewhere. Which Amanda clearly did. That being said, one day Amanda will enter the "real" courtroom where the judge sitting up high on the bench will be God himself. The star witness on the stand will be Merideth herself and Amanda will have only herself to represent her. She will not have a lawyer nor a guardian angel either. And she will be forced to tell the truth since she will be 100% transparent + naked for all to see...... |

| There are some serious weirdos on here today. Jesus. |
Oh really.....??! Then why do people smoke it? Why is it illegal to drive while blazed? And most importantly....Why do people laugh at stupid stuff while stoned?????!!! Sure it's not as bad as LSD or Mushrooms, but how can you say that it doesn't alter the mind very much? Brain cells already altered?? |
Your gut sounds pretty stoned. She was at her boyfriend's house, likely having pretty typical sex with her new Italian boyfriend. She wasn't close friends with Kercher or the other girls she lived with. She sounds like a naive, trusting American exchange student, so getting attached to a sassy Italian boyfriend and smoking pot with him doesn't seem out of character for that type. I think she called the cops pretty responsibly right out of the gate when something didn't seem right, but because she wasn't there and had no idea what happened, she probably didn't assume that her roommate had been brutally murdered. I also have no problem believing that the Italian police and lawyers took advantage of her naivete. I don't have a hard time believing that she was slapped during interrogation, that she was questioned for hours in a language she was not proficient in, and that the Italian media, who love a good show, was delighted by the idea of a kinky American college student guilty of an unthinkable crime. I find all that a lot easier to believe than anything you described above, if only because what you described above would leave forensic evidence all over the place, and that wasn't the case. As for being "too stoned to know what they were doing" it doesn't sound to me like you've ever been stoned. It doesn't induce a fugue state. It doesn't induce psychosis. If they were "too stoned" the likely result was that they had a bunch of stoned sex, watched a movie, and ate too much. |
But ZOMG what about the REEFER MADNESS!! |
I've smoked pot. I've also taken LSD and mushrooms, and you clearly have limited experience with any of these things. People smoke for a lot of reasons. It's illegal to drive under the influence of alcohol too, but I don't hear you commenting on alcohol-induced psychosis and amnesia. People laugh at all kinds of stupid stuff in many mental states. My husband and daughter think YouTube videos of cats being ridiculous are the funniest things they've ever seen in their lives, but I don't think they're high on pot at 7am when they're doing that. And if you don't believe that there are gradations of mind alteration, I don't know what to tell you. |
people laughing at stupid stuff =/= murder |
Pot doesnt alter reality enough that someone could murder someone else and not be aware of it. It makes things funnier, and makes Little Debbie's taste better. Alcohol can cause a similar buzz. Higher amaounts of alcohol can cause people to blackout and go into a stupor. Pot doesn't do that. |
I dunno, some of my husband's bad puns make me feel like I'm being murdered... |
It is a much more dangerous narcotic than people realize. But I don't think she was fully addicted, and it was not really a factor in this case. |
| Marijuana isn't a narcotic. |
| She is clearly innocent (not "not guilty") but there seem to be many Americans unfamiliar with the details of the case and the corruption, unfortunately. |
OK that's fair... |
