Would you view me as classy, tacky, or frumpy

Anonymous
It sounds boring to me but certainly not frumpy or tacky or anything like that.

I am 5 ft tall and I wear heels. I love them. I agree that they would lengthen your leg and change your look but if it's not your think it's not your thing. I'd say introduce more color into your wardrobe and maybe cocktail rings or something signature like that.

Omg a size 6/8 is hardly fat. You el DCUMers are always so crazy about weight.

I think you dress ok for work but I would change hair+glasses. That's what probably makes you look old.

A picture is worth a thousand words. With just the words, the most I can say is "safe." Depending on how polished the look is overall, you could teeter between classic and frumpy.

Insecure. No matter what are you wearing, if you have to ask this question, I bet there is nothing classy about you.

Not really. Size 6/8 (vanity sizing) on a 5'1" frame is very different from size 6/8 on a 5'9" frame.

Nope. Some looks / styles / people are anti-heel. Take that sexist crap somewhere else.

Nope, sorry, I won't. If she wasn't asking for opinions, she didn't need to post. Heels would look much better than flats for her.

Agree. Heels will elongate her legs which she desperately needs. Whether she is wearing pants, jeans, dresses, she needs heels.

Disagree. I always prefer the look of flats. Heels may make her look longer, but not everyone prefers that aesthetic.

Actually, wearing high heels will in fact shorten your calf muscles. You can have really shapely, elongated calves if you do the correct exercises.

Yes, really, and you just proved it once again. A size 6/8 on a 5'9" frame = eating disorder.

How in holy f*** can you say what she needs when you have never seen her?

Sexist crap!

Right?! FFS, all that crap on your face yet you won't wear heels.

Completely devoid of sexuality .

At 5'1" and 130 lbs - you are neither 6 nor 8. I am 5'3" and I know I am not pleasing at 130. My 5'5" DD is curvy at 130 but not slender.

Lose the weight and even a plain white t-shirt and jeans will look good on you. You could wear the most expensive clothes but if you are not fit, then you are not looking good.

I'm glad someone else thought this, too. I guess what I wear would be considered no makeup.

Yeah, that's definitely not light makeup. I wear what I think is light makeup: mascara, gel blush, tinted lip balm. Concealer for the random zit.

YOu could apply all those things very lightly. I do. DH didn't realize I wore makeup when we first were dating.

Hahaha, okay PP. You took your DH's word for that? Here's a newsflash, men will try to flatter you when dating. I'm sure he knew you wore makeup and even if he didn't, every woman you came across most certainly did. Get over yourself, you wear a ton of makeup if you're wearing what OP described.

Your idea of eating disorder is out of whack. 6/8 on a 5'9" frame is perfectly acceptable, but a size 0/2 on that frame would cause alarm.

OP, I agree that your look is none of the options in your title. It seems to be fine, but boring. I don't think you need to lose weight or wear heels if you have foot or back problems that bother you.

It does strike me that it's unlikely you're dressing in a way that particularly flatters your figure. For example, if you are going to wear flats, you should look into a-line or flared skirts. Skinny jeans look much better with ballet-flats, ideally pointy-toed ones. I know no one wears boot cut jeans right now, but they really are much more flattering on curvy figures.

If this is something you really care about, investing in an appointment with a stylist would be a good idea. You are a 31 y.o. Director, so it's likely you can afford it. But in the meantime, the best things you can do is add some more bright colors and patterns to your wardrobe and buy some fun jewelry!
