I'm do too and I love it!!!
I've had it for 13 years and it still looks great!
Amazon sells some pieces

Are these slightly off white or is it just my screen?

Must be your screen. They're definitely bright white.

We picked up ten or so from the C&B outlet in Alexandria. A little on the big side (cannot put them in the middle of the dishwasher), but they've held up for 10 years w/o any chips or discoloring.

Denby white ? We use Denby and love it (although mine is more a sand color).

I love our Crate and Barrel's Cafeware II. We had it for almost 15 years and it never chips. It is oversized heavy porcelain in basic white.

Love our Crate and Barrel Essential set. We've only had it for a few years but not a single chip. Super simple and sleek, and the mugs are the perfect size.

Anyone know of an affordable and durable basketweave set?

Pier One has great white porcelain dinnerware that does not chip. We like it so much we replaced a much more expensive set - that kept chipping - and bought another set for our vacation home.

OP, thanks for the summary. I have two sets of plates from Sur La Table and I am not happy with them.
They chip very easily. I have several chipped plates and bowls and they are driving me nuts.
Also they are pretty heavy. They claim to be microwave safe but get super hot in the microwave which is super annoying.

Are people happy with the qualit of the C&B Aspen collection? I like th elook and feel but felt very put off seeing the chips in the store.

+1. Got it to replace our chipped C+B dinnerware.

My grandmother had Corelle. They are very light and sturdy, which I love, but I don't like the shape. Kind of more amorphous, maybe? I want crisp/clean/defined.

NP who also loves my Corelle. All of my pieces are perfectly circular--very clean and classic-looking. Maybe you're not looking at the right lines?

Another NP who absolutely loves Corelle. There are tons of different patterns. We have white that have a ripple texture on the rim. The look beautiful, are easy to clean, take up less cabinet space and have survived a year of my three sons doing the dishes!

Anonymous wrote:OP here. I checked out some stores over the weekend and tracked down some recs from this thread. Thanks for the input! I'm listing my impressions in case anyone else is shopping for dinnerware.

-V&B: not really feeling these in person but can't pin down why. Great deal at Bloomingdales though, at 50% off.

-Pottery Barn: lots of reviews that PB dinnerware is too heavy and also shows silverware marks, so didn't check these out in person.

-IKEA: used to have some plates from here and they developed hairline cracks.

-C&B: thought I would like Aspen, but the "foot"/ridge felt too high so it was uncomfortable to hold the plate in one hand. Would not like unloading and loading dishwasher. Maybe I just have small hands. The Everyday line actually was most appealing with the lower foot, and I like that they are porcelain. Will probably pick up 8 or 12 dinner plates, some bowls, and get cups/saucers and other items elsewhere.

There is an outlet store at Potomac Mills for Corelle. It may not really be an "outlet" but the price was good and they had all of the designs in stock.

-Corelle: still not a fan of most, but found some awesome looking entree bowls that have a more defined look. Would be great for serving pasta and stews and soups. Can't argue with the price! Target is sold out, so searching elsewhere. I remember eating from Corelle at grandma's and these dishes were very light but sturdy.

-Sur La Table: totally forgot about them but I love this store, so I will look around to see if they have some white dinnerware that would work well with the C&B dinner plates.

-WS: I didn't check them out because I've started to really dislike the shopping experience and service. Last two orders had issues and when I made a big All-Clad purchase here, they refused to honor the promotional deal after I sent in all the necessary forms. Should have stuck with SLT.

You can get Corelle on Amazon!

Thanks - I checked, but they don't seem to carry the specific dish I'm looking for. Looks like Walmart stocks them periodically, so I'll keep an eye there.

Another Corelle fan here. Light, easy to stack and hard to break. Good for kids.
