Mikasa antique white

Beautiful for simple dinners at home or it can easily be dressed up special occasions. It is fine china, but is chip resistant and can take daily beating in the dishwasher. I've gotten so many compliments on this simple yet elegant design.

NP. This is one reason we registered for Mikasa dishes. However, they don't get clean in the dishwasher. At least 1/3 of our dishes have to be hand washed after they come out of the dishwasher, and this is after a hand rinse beforehand. I did not have this problem with the Crate and Barrwl glass dishes or anything else that goes in the dishwasher (including mixing bowls and casserole dishes). I can't figure it out, but I'm ready to donate all of my Mikasa dishes.

+1. Got it to replace our chipped C+B dinnerware.

My grandmother had Corelle. They are very light and sturdy, which I love, but I don't like the shape. Kind of more amorphous, maybe? I want crisp/clean/defined.

NP who also loves my Corelle. All of my pieces are perfectly circular--very clean and classic-looking. Maybe you're not looking at the right lines?

OP again. By amorphous, I mean the plates are circular, but the inner edge/ridge is very soft, if that makes sense? It sort of slopes in toward the center of the plate instead of stepping down more cleanly. I think I prefer a more crisp/defined border.

The Impressions line has more of a defined border. Like this:

Big fan here. You can order directly off the site. Their pasta bowls are
My favorite.

Another vote for Corelle. We also bought directly from them because they had a great sale. I like them because they stack super thin, they are light, and my kids use them (enough said).
