What are the preppiest and wealthiest towns in the Jersey Shore?

My millionaire cousin has a waterfront house in Mantoloking. It got decked by Sandy (houses destroyed, sand dunes in the street) but he has it completely rebuilt now. Good place to keep a motorboat. He lives in Princeton and his grown kids sail.
Have also heard good things about Cape May and Stone Harbor.
Belmar is a Situation.

Which is exactly what's wonderful about it!

And no boardwalk!

Stone Harbor is not one little street. There are a few streets with tons of cute shops. It's very quaint but tons of shops, restaurants etc in the downtown area. Beaches are private and beautiful and clean. Easy drive from DC and many of the reports have been completely redone and are oceanfront. Would recommend. We went this Summer.

There are .no private beaches in nj, all are public. Many require a the purchase of a.Weekly or seasonal pass.

You need to have a beach pass by either purchasing one or staying at a resort so it is sort of private.

Requiring the purchase of a beach pass, which is always less than ten bucks for the day, does not make a beach "private."

Cape May has the best restaurants and night life of any of these towns mentioned.

Stewart lives in Red Bsnk, Bon Jovi in Middletown and Springsteen in Colts Neck.

Actually, that is the definition of public, anyone can access the beach for a small fee, and every beach is guarded in Nj. My family had a house in Loveladies and there are many blocks with private beach access, but by law there are also public access

New Jersey has adopted the Public Trust Doctrine which recognizes that "wet sand" -- generally the extent of high tide -- and the adjacent swimming area are open to free public use.

Because the Jersey shore is fifty times easier to get to?

...and the hamptons aren't preppy in the true definition of that word. (Any idiot can pop their collar on their pink shirt)

So by looking for "preppiest and wealthiest" did you mean "whitest"? That's how it comes across.

I don't judge a place based on who goes there.
