I hink the point is that if you have enough experiences in your life where people assume the worst just because of your race, then any interaction can be affected. What you're describing- a life where race is NEVER an issue, is white privilege.

I agree. The footage is for the justice system, and eventually for the public record - whether it shows guilt, innocence or is ambiguous. Just don't riot is part if being a decent human who actually wants progress. You find other means of expression. I remember as a kid wondering what the heck had happened to 14th and 16th street. They looked bombed. And the Mt. pleasant riots were asinine - few DC residents and lots of kids pouring into the city for anarchical "fun" like burning our Giant down. Its a communication form, one worthy of derision, and strong condemnation. Has President Obama addressed this?

PP here. If you hadn't thrown in that term "white privilege," I might have sympathized more with your point. (And I don't know if you're black, or a white liberal.) But throwing in that term reeks with resentment for white people, and that attitude is exacerbating the issue. And I'm not even sure what it means. The way you used it means a person who hasn't experienced racial bigotry, although I beg to differ. Jews, who are predominantly white, have sure experienced antisemitism (disproportionately from blacks, I might add, which strikes me as both ironic and sad). Plus, many whites have lost out on jobs or promotions because their competition, less qualified, was black. In those instances, would you call it "black privilege"? (I consider it a form of reparations, myself, to try to even the playing field.)

On one hand they're complaining about Trump and his supporters being racist, and on the other they are driving American Jews, predominantly Democratic voters, to the Republican side. (Or, if they can't vote for an R, they'll just stay home.) And while it's true that Jews are a small percentage of the electorate, they are also highly educated and participate in elections more so than the average person. In a close election, pushing Jews to vote R, or refuse to vote D, could make a difference.
