So how exactly are the Republicans looking out for middle America?

well for one, they stopped dems from raising taxes on the POOR. you must not recall how hard Pelosi and the rich dem machine on the hill tried that one. and yes, the bush tax cuts go all the way down to income brackets of about 7000/year.

they also tried to stop the dems im-too-poor-to-buy-health-insurance tax penalty. so now, of you cannot afford insurance, you owe addional taxes too. brilliant.

Wait, last election y'all said 50% of Americans pay no taxes at all. Now we find out that people making $7000 a year are paying taxes?

Can you please provide a guide so that we can tell which bullshit is to be believed on which days?

Heres a rate chart http://www.bankrate.com/finance/taxes/tax-brackets.aspx

These are rates on taxable income. Ok so with a standard deduction plus 1 exemption, I figure you have taxable income when earning over about $10,000/year ($5/hr), so not 7,000 my bad.

You forgot tax credits. When you add in those, often people get back more than they paid in.

Single taxpayers get none when they make over about $14,000/year. thats about $7/hour or minimum wage. no earned income tax credit.

Do you ever actually look at your tax returns? Look at line 5 of the 1040 EZ. https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040ez--2014.pdf Or line 40 in the 1040 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040.pdf

actually, ive got an accounting degree, was a return preparer for years. And, so what is your point exactly? oh and yes, so that means ive seen these things hon.

i should add ive got about 45 credits in tax alone.

look, it is so tiring and exasperating listening to liberals say they help the poor and middle class at the federal level when, the fact of the matter is, you make them more poor by raising their taxes, like you attempted to do when bush tax cits were set to sunset, which lower tax rates alllll the way down to $1 of taxable income. And when you tell poor Amwrica you either buy health plans or pay thousands of additional taxes every year. dont ya think if people could afford insurance, they would buy it??? why tax people who are broke and cant afford it. like oh, my little poor political pawns, im offering you *cheap* insurance for your family for $400/mo. but it or be penalized. isnt your life better now? news flash: $400/mo, even $100/mo, is big money to a lot of poor and middle americans. you libs, are so freaking out of touch with what it is like to be poor or average. you probably have a net worth of $1m plus, HHI of $300k plus, you just dont get it.
