I like this idea in theory, but my 3.5 month old is in 6 and 9 month clothes now. We have tons of nice 12 and 18 month gifted winter clothes that will likely be out of season for our giant girl. Maybe if going this route stick with multi-season pieces?

+1. We got clothes going all the way up to 5T(!!) for each of my kids. We had to keep track of and store clothes that wouldn't be used for years. And my kids both had interesting growth patterns, so we ended up with sundresses that would fit in the dead of winter for DD, and winter clothes that would fit over the summer for DS. The second time around, I returned as much stuff in the larger sizes as possible.

I think giving a piece of jewelry to a girl is a nice present that they can keep forever.

A savings bond - old school but charming in its own way.

The best gifts were: a rock n play, a boppy, and an Amazon gift card. When I had my little girl I also enjoyed receiving super cute clothes in the 0-3 month and the 3-6 month range (ridiculous frilly clothes that I would never invest in myself but look so adorable).

Wow, I'm sorry, PP. I'm the PP who does the bag of practical stuff, including clothes. I guess I do spring/fall type clothing, that way it can be used year-round. Since I've seen the kids wearing the outfits, I guess it works. I can certainly see that having toddler sizes would be an issue!

No! We got too many things people wanted us to keep "forever" as a memory. We do not have unlimited storage and my little daughter did not need all that jewelry that ended up getting broken in the toddler years. She would have outgrown it when she was older donee let her wear the stuff and it was distroyed. And I didn't care.

Best present- Target GC.
