What is your "what the hell was I thinking" relationship story?

My boyfriend was mad (situation unrelated to us), and declared he was going to rape a bunch of women. I lost it, screamed and yelled at him, told him how deplorable he was, etc. He later apologized, said he'd never actually do it, but still tried to defend his comment. And I continued to date him until he moved away several months later. He did and said a lot of other jerky things, but I do not know what I was thinking to stay with him after that specific incident.
