We created a trust in your name but don't ask us any questions about it.

We'd like to pass on our (likely sizable) Roth accounts but we also plan to live well in early retirement. So, no, we haven't talked with the kids about $$$$.

I would think you'd want to use the Roths and pass on something else. The Roths have no capital gains taxes, and other things you pass on will have their cost basis changed to the day you pass (I think).

Because you seem like an entitled, spoiled brat?

Because they spent it, already.

Wow, seeing this thread I understand why my lawyer advised me against pre-planning to give money to the kids now. I have well over the 5.5 mil and I was trying to think of tax advantages of different trusts (ie. putting the 5.5 mil in a trust for them now so it can grow over time). Without saying so he basically told me it might be better just to pay the taxes and NOT leave so much to the kids. I should wait and see what kind of adult they become. If they feel entitled when they grow up I will most likely leave to charity. They should learn to make their own money, as should the original poster. Your parents already spent a ton raising you.
