| Yes, DD will go to Wilson. So will many of DD's friends, who are all extremely happy at Deal. |
Which of these schools perform better than Janney/Key/Lafayette/Murch/Mann -- year after year? |
Almost all of them. I hope the Janney kids don't pull down the Hearst and Eaton kids. Funny looking at these numbers knowing the IB rate at Hearst and Eaton. White student performance (non FARM) Proficient and Advanced Hearst 96.67% Eaton 96.47% Oyster 95.98% Mann 95.63% Lafayette 95.06% Stoddert 93.23% Janney 93.04% Key 91.76% **Shepherd did not have enough white students to measure but they have mid 70s test scores with 33% FARM rate. |
Can you now post the 10 year numbers for all these schools? A one-year snap shot is just that. Also, it's interesting that you (?) got pissy with the OP for limiting the discussion to just "JKLM" but then proceeded to limit your own answer -- 'Eaton is great, too!!!" -- to ...just the white folk. |
It was an obvious unintentional error to leave off Eaton as you can see from subsequent posting of Eaton's great scores as well as mentioning how great Eaton and Hearst are as well. Feel free to do your own data analysis. Why do you care what Janney's scores are 10 years ago as it is the kids that tested last year that are going to be attending Wilson from OP's question. Scores for 10 years ago are from kids that are no longer in high school. Sorry your false "JKLM is the best and only option" theory is no longer considered to be the end all be all....especially with 33 kids per class. |
+1 why can't it be acknowledged that all ES feeder schools are now great schools? |
| Absolutey. All four kids IB for Janney then to Deal then to Wilson. 2 at Wilson now--so far it has been very good. |
|
"Shepherd did not have enough white students to measure" hahahahahahaha.
Come on, there is measurable amount of white kids at Shepherd. |
What is so funny about that? There has to be 10 or 15 students in each demographic group to get detailed preformance. Yes there are white students at Shepherd (9% of an already small school) but less than a handful of those kids are in testing grades 3-5. Why do you find that so funny or are you just ignorant? |
| The subgroups by race are reported by DCPS. |
Test performance is only reported if the subgroup has n>10 students |
Big chip on your shoulder, uh? |
| Please post ten year average for kids entering 6-9 years from now heh heh |
| DD wants to go to Deal then Wilson (is in 3rd) because that's what all her friends are saying they will do, because that's what their parents say. But we are considering Washington Latin, maybe even Banneker. Or private on financial aid. |
Interesting. Do you have a link to this data? |
