Oh, yeah, some "major business deal" - Trump isn't rich because of business deals. He's only rich because his dad gave him the money. He's no richer today than he would be if he just put his inheritance into an index fund. http://www.vox.com/2015/9/2/9248963/donald-trump-index-fund |
Since when is " looking into something" a racist statement ? |
Of course he did it on purpose. It gets him what he wants most - attention - and its give more fodder to his base. |
Well, he says he is worth $10 billion so that is a big swing between the number in the link you provided versus what Trump says. More to the point, the amount computed in the link assumes that he reinvested all dividends etc. Whatever his net worth is today, he has been sustaining a luxurious lifestyle with his real estate empire and other earnings. Finally, the link does not take into account what he paid his ex-wives when he divorced them. |
We agree! No one is talking about the debate and everyone is talking about Trump. Was this sort of deflection in "The Art of the Deal"? |
What he claims he is worth does not at all comport with any other source out there. He brags, boasts, *cough*LIES*cough* |
Thomas Jefferson was a slave owner who was screwing his wife's half sister (and may have fathered her children) so lets not put him on a pedestal. |
He's pandering and is coddling and enabling the misinformed and delusional. That is precisely what FOX News and conservative media have been doing for years, and it is precisely why the GOP is now in such an utter shambles. Conservatives don't even recognize the damage they keep doing to themselves with this nonsense. |
Always risky to quote Jeff, but that comment is pretty vague. Trump is not talking about Catholics or Mormons (nice jump off topic). perhaps he might have been thinking of Muslin terrorists, but again he does not say that. Some of his statements do apply to illegal immigrants, who are not "undocumented residents" (nice euphemism) who also are proven to be criminals. But no reason to make distinctions because "you knew what he meant"! |
You guys are really invested in self-delusion. For some reason, you didn't quote the entire exchange. If you go back to my original message, the questioner never says anything about the legal status of anyone and never uses the words "terrorist" or "terrorism". What the guy does say is, "We have a problem in this country, it’s called Muslims?" Trump's reply was not, "Hold on, that's insane. Muslims are not a problem". Instead, Trump's response was that he was going to look into it. The words are right there in black and white. Do you agree with the guy who asked the question that "We have a problem in this country, it’s called Muslims"? If he had said that to you, how would you have responded? |
Who are you to tell Trump what he must say to someone talking with him? talk about delusional ... |
We the People.... |
I think it's hilarious that after 8 years of playing footsie with these views (John McCain's comments being the noteworthy exception, but still the exception that proves the rule), the GOP establishment is trying to take down Trump for saying these things.
Of course they are ridiculous, stupid, racist, offensive statements but that's not because Trump is saying them-- they've been true the whole time the tea baggers were saying them too. |
Don't be a simpleton. They are not taking Trump down for saying this ....... they are using it as an excuse to try and take him down. The odds are they will strengthen his support. |
It wasn't clear from the video that Trump actually heard everything the guy said (which is what someone in his campaign also said). I'd give him the benefit of the doubt here. |
