Did your parents never teach you to treat other peoples' property with respect?

Same. I'd poison without thinking twice.

I have a neighborhood without sidewalks. So yes, DOGS POOP IN THE YARDS! Oh, the horror. Luckily my neighborhood is full of dog lovers.

DCUMers are idiots.

Hope you like prison, then. And an eternity in hell.

Aren't there patches of grass along the street? I don't let my dog go in yards -- it's happened once or twice by accident but I try very hard not to let that happen.

By the way, PP again, I once was screamed at for my dog PEEING in a yard. I lived in Dupont Circle at the time so the houses are all on top of each other. How can you stop your dog from lifting its leg and peeing??? Anyway, I avoid allowing poop in yards.

You do know the difference between wild animals whose natural habitats are shared with plots of land where people's homes sit and domesticated pets that are the owner's responsibility, right? #1 your dog needs to be on a leash. 2) assuming he is, you the owner have the ability and obligation to keep your pet off of someone else's property. Besides, most dog turds are bigger and grosser than droppings from squirrels, birds, etc. you really need that explained to you?

The house I grew up in, in Montgomery County, was public property (no sidewalks) several feet into the yard until after the drainage ditch.

Keep in mind sometimes that property is still yours, but the county or state has an easement (right to use it). Also, even if it's not yours, you're expected to maintain it. For example, in MoCo you must shovel the snow on the sidewalk in front of your house within 24 hours or you will be fined. I've never seen the county out mowing the strip of grass between the sidewalk and the street -- I assume I'm required to maintain it. So I'm probably required to keep it poop-free also.

Whatever. Dogs are filthy. And you and your house smell like dog, too.

Not pp, but it's their yard. They can do what they wish. If you can't be responsible enough with YOUR animal, then YOU should feel guilty. It's other people's responsibility to deal with YOUR dog.

Maybe don't get a dog if you can't provide for it without bothering others? If you don't have the personal space/yard for it, it's not the fault of others.

Um, no. That is not how the law works.

I've literally never seen this kind of anti-dog venom before.

Thank god I don't live in this area any more. People are monsters.

Yeah. The wild animal sh*ts in your yard and it stays until/unless you pick it up or it washes away. A dog poops in your yard, the owner picks it up and no harm done.

Correction: It's NOT other people's responsibility to deal with YOUR dog. You're the owner. It's on your watch. Others have the right to protect their property from your animal.
