Myschoolbucks - usurious fees!!!

I wouldn't swear to it, but it does not look like we pay any fees. If we do, they are really well hidden and did not pop up when I set up a recurring deposit (I certainly wouldn't have done recurring if it had told me there was a fee). And looking at the balance, it doesn't look like any fees have been deducted (the way the screen works, I can't see the balance on the same screen as deposits and purchases, but the math seems to track no deductions). That makes the DCPS thing doubly crazy.

Considering that Mayor Bowwow wanted to let one of her campaign contributors get $4000 per month, per unit for subsidized housing, that would hardly be surprising.

+1 I do manual transfers from my bank account into MySchoolBucks every now and then, as my DD only buys lunch once a week, and there are no fees.

I'm too cheap to give them a fee to make it more convient for them. I just sent a check for 100.00 to school and they sent me a post card from "my school bucks" to shame me saying checks are "ancient history". It's a racket. I won't pay.

I am all for suggestions, but schools are not going to set up a paypal account just because you want to avoid transaction fees. Who in the school has enough time to manage a paypal account, in addition to all the other demands that are placed on administrators. Given how critical people are of schools, on dcum, it would be a matter of time before someone is anonymously posting how some unnamed school screwed up.

I know this thread is old but I wish people would stop calling her Mayor Bowwow. It's not much different that the FL governor calling referring to "monkeying up" when talking about his black opponent. You can disagree with her without referring to her as an animal. Leave that low-blow to Roseanne.
