Is a 12x10 ft bedroom too small or normal?

I think so long as you keep the room tidy and the furniture fits well with the room layout you will be totally fine for years to come.

In London a 12 x10 bedroom is considered a "good double room" and a small single would be something utterly ridiculous like 7x6

So at least its not that small.

If mom is upstairs, put all the kids upstairs and you downstairs. Not getting why mom has to be upstairs. A five year old needs supervision.

The baby still nurses once a night, so I prefer a quick feed when she's across the hallway rather than all the way up the stairs. A five year old will be supervised by grandma.

Supervision? It's a bedroom. Our kids have been on a different floor from us for six years, since they were 2 and 5. They're fine.

That's bigger than my daughter's room, and we have a double bed, a dresser and a nightstand in there. She doesn't play there much anyway.

Small rooms are more workable if you have a BIG closet. Hers runs the entire length of the shorter wall- maybe 9 feet. She also has a bed with storage drawers for bed linens and other things.

That is the size of my master. We have a small home. We have a queen bed, nightstands, dresser, and chest in there. No extra space but there is room. We don’t spen a lot of time in there anyway.

Not sure why you revived a 2 year old thread. You realize that by now the house has been built, the family has moved in and the baby is now a preschooler. If they haven't sorted out this problem by now, no amount of advice from an anonymous forum is going to save them.

You'll be ok. Just get a bed with drawers/storage built in. If you do an Elfa closet, you can maximize storage & maybe get away with not having a dresser. That frees up a lot of space for a desk, and makes the room seem not so cramped. We did that with our bedroom downstairs and it's worked out fine.

I have a 9x12 bed room is that too small

Too small, when we built our house we made sure no bedroom was smaller than 15x15. Builders will make the smallest possible to bump resale

You're building new and this is the best you can get?
