Were you a brat in the 1960s? Everyone waits their turn at the commissary, even the generals wives. Same for the ER. Folks are seen by triage priority, not rank. Active duty in UNIFORM do get bumped to the front of the line, but that is not different whether you are an airman or private or a full bird colonel. I always send my husband to the pharmacy for ke in uniform because he gets in and oit and I have to wait hours. The segregation of officer and enlisted is to maintain the chain of command, keepnorder, and discourage fraternization between similar aged members, particularly those of the partying age (18-30 year olds) When a 25 year old officer might be in charge of a twenty two year old's career, or be the person who has to tell that enlisted subordinate to go do something that might kill them, or be the one to administer punishment on them, it just is not prudent to have these two be socially entwined drinking buddies. The separation serves a higher purpose. |
Great post pp! You said it far better than me, that is for sure. |

Anyone who acts entitled/selfish/snobby/rude.
"Upper class" Latinos - I'm Latina but not of this stock, and it's astounding the outright racism and classism I see in these people. Fat shamers. Fuck off. (I'm thin, but I think it is so awful of people to judge others for their body shape and size.) Pro-Israel people who ignore the plight of and violence experienced by the Palestinians. People who are mean to homeless people, or have no empathy for the homeless. Those aggressively cheerful people who kind of ignore what's actually going on around them. I'm all for happiness and kindness, but when it comes across as fake it's grating. |

I sure hope Im raising my military kids better than the asshole dependents in this thread.
We are dual enlisted, college educated, and have never had an issue with service levels or officers and their families. |
+1 I am an Air Force brat (father was an officer) and I truly did not know the difference between officers and enlisted until I started teaching on a military base. Most of the officers I dealt with (as parents of the children I taught) were wonderful and never “pulled rank” to get advantages. |
The littlest ones do it best. In a crowd of BDUs, anyone with those greenish pants is "Daddy!" Or "Mommy!" (At least until they look up) They all are the same from the legs down

This. Especially those who espouse to be open-minded but are in practice more narrow-minded, judgmental and close-minded than those they condemn. |

+1000000. Extremely pro- Israel hawks are unpatriotic. So much of the policy they want hurts America. |

Liberals Religious fanatics. You can be religious. Don't don't try to shove it down my throat please. The only person I need saving from is you. Welfare recipients that act like it's a right. It's not a right. Get a job. Anti Vaxxers People who care more about what the Kardashians are doing than what the POTUS is doing. Wake the hell up! |

+1 - well stated. |

Educated people who don't follow current events. Not saying they need to be political junkies, but at least peruse the headlines most days.
People who don't vote. Everyone should at least register and try to vote in most elections. Damn free riders! |
Wow! The enlisted are the ones who put their lives on the front lines, so we can maintain our freedom. You're the one whose trash! I greatly respect those who are willing to do for the greater good what I am not. |
