What went down at CMI yesterday?

Did it ever occur to you all that there is nothing to tell? That it was a small isolated incident and that the admin wanted to err on the side of caution? That we all love the school cause they would never want to risk jeopardizing the kids and beloved faculty?

Uh, because it's a public school that receives its funding from taxes we all pay. It's a bad way to handle this from a PR perspective and leads to raised suspicions. While I'm curious, I can't say that I care all that much. Just don't throw out bogus reasons for not being more forthcoming.

You're such a PR expert that you think CMI should have a comment on DC goddamn Urban MOms to explain the sitiation?

Sure, it occurred to me. It also occurred to me that, if it was something so small, why would someone have to close the school. And for 2 days, if I'm reading all this correctly.

Murch had a thread let year when police raced to the school. The school was very forth coming and information was relayed on DCUM. There was barely a discussion about it because the information, also an internal of course, was relayed quickly.

When you don't give information people become more curious. This is how rumors get started.

It seems very odd that no one will stop the rumors especially when the school is closed today.

Thanks for asking. Yes. (Along with a whole host of other possibilities).

My guess is that I'm like a lot of the people replying to drivel like your post. We don't really care what happened but we're annoyed at the catastrophic failure of logic and reason. And, because I am a miserable liberal and see racism everywhere, I am also annoyed that snowflake schools seem to be off limits while discussions about risks, bad actions, violence and other issues at majority black schools don't seem to be off limits and/or draw the ire of the mods.

+1 another cmi parent and reason we love the school. You should probably consider that NONE of us know many details either (and you all seem to care about those details more then the parents right now)

Well most of the parents are saying it is an isolated issue. If they don't know the details, how can they make that assertion?

THIS IS WHAT WE WERE TOLD- and we have accepted (for now). I suspect we will hear more later- but until then we are trying to be respectful of administration and not gossip or make assumptions. More then I can say for many of the DCUM posters on this thread- who have no or little relations with the school itself.

Okay, on this note I'm going to call it a day. For the record, I don't know very much about CMI. I don't personally consider it a "snowflake" school or any other type of school. No matter what I do, however, somebody will consider it unfair. But, I'm find with that. You guys can go find a fair website for your witch hunt. But, this conversation is over.
