Heartbreaking to see the Caitlyn/Tyler/Theresa/Brandon powwow. I really don't think Tyler understands he gave up his parental rights when he "placed" Carly with them. I think he and Caitlyn thought they would play a much greater role in Carly's life than they have. |
I think Caitlyn gets it but Tyler does not. He is the biological parent but Brandon/Theresa are Carly's parents. He talks as if the 4 of them are sharing custody of Carly. Gary seemed to be upset that Amber is not devastated by his girlfriend being pregnant. Wish Amber would get a job and leave that gummy bear alone. Maci...the footage of her speaking to young girls about not getting pregnant was comical. That Farrah...worst person EVA. Why does she call her father by his name? |
Farrah had said she calls him Michael because he is not her older sister's dad and Debra didn't want her to feel weird calling him Michael if Farrah called him dad so she had Farrah call him Michael too.
Tyler's attitude about the adoption is very weird. When he says stuff like "that's my kid" or "let's go see our kid." No dude. That's not how adoption works. She is Brandon and Teresas kid and YES they get full and final say over how their child's images are presented to the media. I bet it killed Tyler they wouldn't let her face be shown on the show. He truly seems to think that adoption means he still has some say in how Carly is raised and Brandon and Teresa merely have physical custody. Poor B and T could not have known how much traction this show would gain and how weird Tyler would be about the adoption. Catelynn gets it and I really think that B and T only keep that relationship so open for her benefit. |
I think that it was best for Carly that she was adopted by a mature, stable couple since Caitlyn and Tyler were not equipped to be parents. That said, I think the adoption agency did them a disservice by playing up the open adoption angle and suggesting that they would play a larger role in Carly's life than they do. They are not co-parents, they are not aunt and uncle, they are not going to be one big happy family. I understand why people want to use the term "place" rather than "give up" a child for adoption, but the teen parents need to appreciate that they ARE giving up their parental rights and that it is irrevocable. Tyler doesn't get that Brandon and Theresa do not need to justify their decisions regarding their daughter's media exposure. They don't answer to him. Caitlyn definitely understands and does not want to jeopardize the relationship. |
I felt bad for Catelynn during the meeting with B and T when Tyler was yammering on about how he's tired if feeling like a servant and worrying how they feel and when he gets mad he posts a video. She was tearing up and you can tell she is just so scared that they will one day no longer allow contact. I think Catelynn is grateful for anything they get from B and T and Tyler just feels entitled to more and doesn't get that he isn't calling the shots and at any point, they can cease to set up meet ups with Carly. |
I felt the same way. However, I wonder why Catelynn never says anything to Tyler about toning it down. She really just follows him around and does whatever he does like a little puppy dog. Farrah is such an ugly person (personality, not looks) that I cannot even stand to watch her. But, in my opinion, MTV "got theirs" with their little clip of Farrah last week. From what I gathered, MTV reached out to Farrah, she agreed to come back on the show and invited them to her house, then they arrive and she throws a hissy fit and won't cooperate. Now how does she feel that her reintroduction to the show is her acting like a five year old? Serves her right, in my opinion. I think it's hilarious that her non-cooperation is what got aired. Amber and Gary are so messed up. They will never be able to co-parent. She told him to come over to talk and then ripped him a new asshole and shoved him out the door before he could say a single word. What in God's name does he see in her? Why would he want to have a relationship with her? She must be pretty good in bed or something. Maci and Ryan were pretty well behaved this week. |
Amber is insane. She actually said, "I am an AMAZING mother!" |
Of course he understands. Have some compassion. The guy is about to become a dad again of course this is going to bring up strong feelings of loss and very likely regret for him. I don't believe they ever thought they were going to play a bigger role in parenting but they may have hoped to have more in person visits. I am betting that now that they have had their 2nd child and are raising her that things will change. What I don't think Tyler understands is that putting every single aspect of one's life on social media is not the best idea. I don't blame him because he has grown up in a world immersed in social media and then put on a TV show that further relies heavily on social media. |
I think Tyler has a lot of regret but with Teen Mom success, he and Catelynn were able to go on and graduate and have money and not have to take menial jobs. Now they own a house and have another kid and I think part of Tyler now thinks "we actually could have done it with Carly." Of course, the catch 22 is without giving up Carly and having that story line, there likely wouldn't have been Teen Mom and all its success. They probably would have been struggling teen parents but all he sees is how relatively well life turned out and he's thinking "we could have done it." |
Tyler and Caitlyn: I'll be honest here - *I* cried when Brandon told them it would take so much more than posting pics of Carly on FB for them to cut off contact. Brandon and Theresa really understand how much this means to T&C. I think Dawn does a little too much listening and not enough setting Tyler straight. Caitlyn is a sweet girl who is not the sharpest tack in the box. Neither is Tyler but he's got anger too which is a bad combination. Also, Tyler's dad was an absentee father and I'm sure Tyler feels a shit-ton of guilt about giving away his daughter and basically also making himself an absentee father via adoption. It was outrageously sweet that Theresa brought some stuff Carly used as a baby for the new baby. That is so beautiful of her.
Maci & Ryan: Ryan's hot. That's why girls like him. Maci needs this to be the last guy who rotates in and out of Bently's house. Amber and Gary: Amber needs a regular job. Sitting around on the couch all day and getting her nails done is making her depressed. She needs a schedule, a routine, something that makes her feel productive each day - it will raise Amber's self esteem. Gary is a gross person. He WANTS Amber to be jealous (and she's mad at herself for being a bit jealous even though she knows Gary is bad for her). Gary is a waste of a person. I have a feeling it's his mom and girlfriend who actively parent Leah, and not him aside from driving her places. Farrah: Sophia is still a sweet kid. If Farrah continues on her path Sophia will change dramatically. Farrah is an ass. |
I get so tired of hearing Caitlyn say what sounds like "BrainandTeresa". Please, girl, it's Bran-don! Two syllables! |
This guy that Amber is with now seems sketchy. I hope MTV did a background check on him! |
Yes, Amber's new BF is super sketchy. I'm not usually a paranoid person but I kind of fear for her daughter's safety with that creepy old man living in the house. I question his intentions and since I don't trust Amber's judgement at all it's hard to feel confident that Leah is safe. |
How old is he? He seems like he's about 40 based on looks. Isn't Amber around 22? I think he's not too sketchy aside from the fact that he seems to not have a job and is attracted to a former prisoner who is famous for having gotten pregnant by the Pillsbury Dough Boy who is 15 years younger than he is. If he'd whiten his teeth, get a chin implant and shave he'd look a LOT better. These people need to get JOBS. Maci is the only one who is heading down the right track, barely. |
I am surprised that Gary seems to accept this new guy so well. Not that Gary is a great judge of character. Maybe to be on the show, MTV requires him to be background checked. I just read elsewhere that this guy has 2 kids of his own and is unemployed. The PP is right. These people need jobs! |
