Sadly, no. There are some students or parents who think they are representing their school well.
|
Yes, someone has been trolling for months and people keep buying into it. I am guessing it's not a GDS person. |
Wow, I guess you would know this since you work in the college counseling offices of these respective schools. How great is that! |
. Not even close to the truth. The STEM types are going to places like Carnegie Mellon, Stanford, Harvard, Penn Enginering, UChicago and MIT. Good students headed to Yale of course, but you would be mistaken to draw any conclusions about the rest of the class. |
| Of course, but if you look at the pool going to yale, it's a truly outstanding group |
| I agree with PP, especially in terms of humanities students^ |

With so many DC area public and private high schools doing so well with college placement this year, the better question is - which school is not doing well with college placement this year?
The best universities and colleges in this country, and around the world, should not bother to admit students outside of the Washington, DC, area, because it is obvious that the very best and brightest are all right here in our local schools! |
True. When it comes to DC area independent school admissions to Harvard, there is no competition.
|
Gross. Perhaps its a little late in the conversation to point this out, but you are talking about competing over your kids. Getting into college isn't a sport. This is the attitude thats distorting so many of our kids' childhood. |
I am the poster you quoted and, well, it was a sarcastic post. |
Nobody gets sarcasm on DCUM, I've noticed. People also fall for trolling a lot. Are we any irony-deficient area? |
