Totally agree with this - in my last round of online dating (where I met my now-wife) - I made quick coffee dates the norm. Short, so nobody gets trapped or has to have a friend call and rescue them. That said, yes, wearing sunglasses to meet someone is rude. You are hiding your eyes behind them, sunglasses are like a mask. If your eyes are sensitive (totally valid) - don't offer to sit outside in the bright sunlight! If he pushes you to go outside or suggests it, tell him your eyes are sensitive and you don't want to be out in the glare. FWIW, his being late and insinuating about the night before, which were probably innocent (the paranoid PP is way overthinking this), still make him kind of a douche, so you are better off. |
