These salaries are much lower than you would think if you read the real estate or money and finances forum. There you think if you are making 250K you are struggling.

Dual income

Most of these salaries are in the 65-120K range. Even with dual income that does not add up to the 250K-400K HHIs people talk about in other forums.

Well, it's not complicated. It just means that those posts and these posts are from different individuals.

I think they are insinuating that the real estate forum is full of it then. I just think it's sampling bias (if you make $400k you probably browse money forum less than the job one), and also we haven't had many lawyers post here yet. Once you had that deluge, just about every post would be $250k+

I want to know too. Is this the norm?

no. they are yanking your chain.

see - http://www.indeed.com/salary/q-Java-Developer-l-Virginia.html

we hire H1Bs for java developers with 2 to 6 years at 60 to 80K.

top salaries are in sv or for top clearances but these are rare and not the norm. People making that much are quickly replaced with younger people willing to work for less and more hours.

a good article on this is at - http://michaelochurch.wordpress.com/2014/07/

In the cleared world senior developers make at least 145k , many people are 160k or above.

Well, some lobbying but more managing relationships with all external partners including governments. Really about protecting our interests and looking for new market opportunities.
