As a big law attorney, I vote doctor. Good doctors have changed my life in ways no attorney ever has. |
OP, you must be a troll. Everyone knows it's doctors. |
Considering the definition of prestige: widespread respect and admiration felt for someone or something on the basis of a perception of their achievements or quality.
It almost laughable to thing lawyer. |
Thing=think |
No, ER docs don't. They are glorified primary care, except worse, because all they do is consult other services. Least prestigious in medicine. |
Money doesn't equal prestige or respect. Plenty of lawyers make 80k or less a year. Plenty of doctors make Big Law money. |
Except when they aren't and they are saving your bacon while the surgeon/cardiologist/stroke specialist gets out of bed, gets in the car, and drives in to see you. |
if you are comparing profession to profession, doctors win hands down. as others have pointed out, any jackass with a pulse can get into an ABA-accredited law school. you can't throw a rock without hitting some washed-up 110 IQ rumped suit shitlawyer scraping by on 30-40k. not so with doctors.
sure, you can compare a pediatrician making 100k with a partner at cravath who makes 5 million, but if we are talking about which profession as a whole is more prestigious, medicine by a mile. (if it matters, i am a lawyer). |
Let me guess, one of them told you that? |
Lol. I bet you believe George Clooney is an ER doctor. |
Yeah, someone has been watching way too much ER. ER docs are least respected docs in hospital who don't deal with life or death - they consult. |
I believe that being an MD is much more prestigious than being a JD. Lawyers are a dime a dozen. |
Doctors are better people |
Doctors. Can't even believe this is a debate. |
It's not. This is the most one sided thread I've ever seen on DCUM. |
