To me that is literally throwing money away.

That's how we like to spend our date money. We used to spend $60 on a sitter. Now that our kids are older and can stay by themselves, that's $60 more we can spend on the food Some people are foodies, some are not. I have a very modest car compared to my income level, but I don't go around saying that people who spend $50,000 or more on a car are "literally throwing their money away."

What do you spend money on?

I have to agree with this sentiment -- these silly dcum pejoratives.....

We spend around $50-80. Our kids are young - 3 and 5. We usually get 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. I can't finish my entrée so that is enough food for us. I eat an appetizer, salad and part of my entrée. Kids eat appetizer and half my entrée. Depending on the restaurant, we may do kids meals instead of appetizers.

For take out, we usally spend $20-40. We do 2 entrees and an appetizer or we may put out some food from home along with 2 entrees.
