There are 8 million stories in the Naked City. This is but one of them. Of course there's a correlation. See TJ's college admission stats for example. |
Is that because they are smart--or did TJ make them smart? Get real. These kids would have done well at any school. |
2 neighbors: one Google HQ: not TJ. JMU another: Microsoft, WA state: not TJ. CNU |
forgot to add-not centers either. |
TJ didn't make them smart obviously, but the degree itself is prestigious; colleges know they can do the work. The atmosphere there, in the classrooms, in the hallways, is intense and yes, different from most of the FCPS high schools. |
hey, no one is arguing that if you don't get into AAP your life is ruined. But if you do get accepted, why not attend?
|
|
| ^ but if it doesn't work out, and the kid doesn't "flourish" you can always go back to the base school. |
For us it was the commute. Too much time out of the day. Plenty of great options at the local HS. |
I think most of us are just trying to make the best decisions we can for our kids, given the information and options we have today. Most parents I know are not naive enough to think that piano lessons = concert pianist, travel soccer = professional athlete, organic food + perfect health for life, AAP = Ivy League. |
| Er, that was supposed be another =, not +. |
+100 I'm so sick of hearing about TJ. Plenty of super-smart kids getting into great colleges at all the other high schools as well. Some of them (gasp) chose NOT to attend TJ. |
I like you.
|
What a complete waste of time...then don't apply. Next we'll be seeing car magnets "TJ-but chose not to attend" |
Aaahahahahaha! |
