I was sitting at a restaurant in Cleveland Park when my friend's six year old slapped the shit out of my friend. Well, not actually. But, she clocked my friend pretty hard across the face. I looked in amazement waiting for my girlfriend to excuse herself and take the kid to the restroom. It didn't happen. My girlfriend tried compromising with a six year old, until the kid struck her again. Finally, the father got up and took the kid from the table, kicking and screaming. I looked at my six year old and said, " don't even think about pulling that act". I felt sorry for my friend. That child is now a very bright, smart, precocious, disrespectful ten-year old that many have no desire to be around for long periods of time.

Surprised you had to tell you 6 year old "don't even think about pulling that act". Mine would've known not to do it at 6 y old without me having to say anything.Nice parenting, keep up the good work.

Its also lame how some of these "good-ole boys" & good-ole girls" make wise cracks 1-behind a computer screen & 2-anonymity behind a screen(very cowardly) ...make derogatory comments towards blacks in other topics yet everything is cool when they do it but when a black speaks on them then sound off the alarms its "trolling"...no diss to every white on here but I notice its definitely a high % of negative ones on here then positive

In my observation of white mothers while I can't say with a straight face that I constantly see them getting beat up and cursed out by their kids, I can say in all seriousness that from my observations white mothers seem to be incredibly lenient when it comes to their children.
To me, white mothers seem far more dismissive of deliberate acts of defiance and disrespect than women of other races and also white mothers seem far more indifferent of inappropriate behavior than women of other races.
When I stopped to think about my observations and the impressions that I have as a result it initially confounded me because I've seen this kind of blasé attitude from white moms of various backgrounds - those from the east coast and west coast in the north and south those that are rich those that are poor those that are catholic those that are protestant...didn't matter. I was totally stumped. Why...why...why...and then finally it hit me and all I could do was laugh because the answer was so simple.

White mom here. I have a hard time believing this story. Either way, neither of my kids would have ever done that again. Of course, they wouldn't have tried in the first place either. My 4yo hit for a week when she was two, and she learned quickly to never pull that nonsense again.
