Bed Bugs from outdoor ed

How can we MCPS to stop sending out kids there? Twitter campaign, media?

It could happen anywhere. Skycroft takes it seriously and they treat the place regularly. Kids love it there.

Did you try to raise this issue on the school listserv? Nobody even replied to the message posted by the principal. All of us assumed that parents did not care or were fine with it. This is the first time I hear a parent complaining.

My son went to Skycroft a few years ago and it was amazing! He wants to go back. The food is excellent.

It is not normal to have bed bug bites years apart. They clearly aren't taking it seriously enough. It may be fun, however shuttling hundreds of kids through when it's infested with bed bugs is irresponsible.

Not a single parent at Westland complained on the listserv. You must be the only person that has a problem with it.

Heavily moderated listserv. Negative comments never make it.

Are you kidding? You think other parents are fine with bed bugs? A listserv is not the first place I would complain. I would be making a personal phone call.

This is where you should begin your advocacy. If you cannot post to the listserv, MCPS will tell you that you are the only one who complained......

I disagree. This was something which only 6th graders do so why would you complain when no one else from your school is going again this year.
Complain to the principal, Superintendant, skycroft, but just because it is not on the listerve doesn't mean parents aren't upset.

I have not heard a single complaint. Not a single parent posted to the listeserv that they had contacted the principal, Sup, skycroft etc.
