But if the rezoning and lotteries go ahead there will be no good neighborhoods anymore...... |
Also, a lot of the extreme stratification in the DC area is based on race. And race is very gradually coming to mean less. So white people like me happily spend way less money to live in a traditionally black neighborhood and feel just fine there. We feel fine sending the kids to schools that are majority black. |
| I think as long as the rates stay low, prices will continue to climb. The supply is not going to increase anytime soon. The housing market will be locked up for some time to come. So I think we have at least a year of more price increases, if not more. They will continue to climb even as rates rise but I could see them start plateauing when rates get past about 5.5%. |

It's insane. The average SFH in all of Arlington ---South, North, good, bad and ugly is now $913K.
I thought it was a misprint because this is Median price, but nope. My Arlington neighborhood is now $1.3 mill. Average. |
Yeah, the schools threads show exactly how progressive "white people like you" are whenever anything is put on the table that might go against your wishes. Spare me, lady. |
PP here. Can you be more specific about what type of dynamic you're talking about? I have not been reading the school threads. |
