Assuming those who were accepted have received a call, anyone planning on giving away their spot? If so, for which grade?

Thanks!

Yu Ying acceptance notices were just emailed out.

Are the results going to be posted online as in previous years?

Yes (or so the email says), on Tuesday. The email to PS3 parents requests a yes/no response within 2 days--I'm assuming that if they get any no responses, they'll be able to contact someone from the waitlist before results are posted.

Were the families with sib pref were called, or all accepted families including those that won from the lottery?

Did anyone get in? Non sib?

Since they had 5 prek3 and 9 prek4 non sibs spots with 2 spaces in orek4 taken by twins, it's 13 new families.

Wonder if any of the 13 new families are on DCUM?

Someone sent around a request for info on a neighborhood list I am on, so they definitely have reached out to the non-sib families.

PP said that "they def reached out to non pref families" and no one on here has said anything so either none of the new families are on here, or the pP is mistaken

how is it going to move this year?
Siblings won't give up spots unless they move (maybe 1 or 2 will leave the District over the summer?)
Then I doubt more than 1 of the lucky 9 (7 + twins) will give up a spot, especially since the odds were so poor elsewhere this year.

The only siblings that would give up a spot would be the ones that one sibling didn't get in and parents don't want to go to more than one school for drop offs and pick ups.

Agreed. I would think the two Pk4s that had an older sibling are likely to decline if the older sib does not get in… PK3 is going to be harder. I wonder if they´ll even move down to the WL with only 5 spots.

YY said "Younger Siblings
of accepted students move to the accepted list if there are available
spaces. If spaces are unavailable, siblings move to the top of the
waitlist." Wonder if that means that the older kids that have a younger sib that got in won't be moved to the top....
Anonymous
No. Siblings of accepted students always move to the top of the wait list. Does not matter if the sib is older or younger.

Good to know...

You sound like a really nice person.

Agree. With a "great" sense of humor .

Why would they take new acceptances before the wait list is posted? I imagine I'm number 685 or simmering ridiculous so it probably doesn't matter to me, but that seems odd.
