yeah I'm fourteen and love starbucks don't be hatin. and um lets see i love bath and body works and american eagle but hate getting gift cards for christmas like visa from aunt is okay but from my parents i like it when they pick it out themselves! how about movies? nail polish? straightener? perfume? fitness stuff?

Two questions.
What are you doing reading a parenting site at 14? And when did they stop teaching punctuation at schools?

18:15 is totally right just give them money that's what my parents do from my aunts and uncles I get Sephora and mall gifts cards.
My grandma and grandpa always gets me mall gift cards and my other granny gets me robe and and a phone case. as for family frends I get money. BTW i'm 14 yrs old

I am giving my niece a blank journal book with a cute pen and a "journal jar" of writing prompts.

The other teen is getting a lip gloss kit (she's 13)

The boys are getting USB wristbands (they are 18 and 16)

The two younger ones are getting Spiro graph and fingerprint art kits.

I stocked up on Uncommon Good sale items over the Summer. Ha!

And no, I'm not close and no they are not grateful so they get what I can afford.

I myself am a 15 year old girl,and i do not like makeup and non of that girly stuff.im more like the girl that would much rather be dirty outside while playin sports with the other boys.if u have a daughter like me just get her sports equipment,bracelets (not pink), sneakers every girl likes a new pair of js!!! The worst thing u can get any child from a parent are gift cards,socks,under wear, just clothes period. Hope this helps!! If anyone needs any more help jist kik me call_me_taty

Please don't stress; while gift cards are nice and relatively easy, they also add stress for the amount you are giving... the kids may not notice but the parents will and if you are OK with that... then so be it.

Seriously, how many of you remember what you got for a gift from your extended family when you were a teenager?

I'm 53 and remember the books and records (yes, records) that I got from my youngest aunt, my godmother and my older female cousins. In fact, I still have several of these treasured items and have passed them down to my teen DD. These gifts came with love and often they were meant to convey important messages to me about growing up.

Not to say that the craft kits, lip gloss, etc. aren't cool -- in fact, I think your nieces will love them -- and I certainly don't want to add stress to anyone's life at the holidays, but, a gift card is really impersonal.

I am 43 and have to say yep, I do remember some of the gifts from the cool aunt and my grandmother. My grandmother was a swap meet nut and would find a cool box and put a nice piece (ok, not from clairs, but maybe macy's) type of jewelry. I have been thinking of hitting this store Lou Lou's that opened up near my office recently.
