| Really.. My 14 yo and all of her friends frequent starbucks and the one near her HS is jammed w kids all morning and after school |
| It's not just now either. When I was in high school, we hung out at a big coffee shop ALL THE TIME (this was before starbucks made it off the west coast). |
| Gift card from Hollister, Abercrombie, Aeropostale |

How about a magazine subscription (for a special interest she has or might like to learn about?)
Horses? Science? Traveling? Current Events? Humor? Cars? |
| Magazine subscriptions are great. My DD loves Teen Vogue and all of the gossiP mags- people, in touch etc |
> I would pass on teen vogue for 14 if you are not the parent. Can be a bit much. |

I got my 14 y/o cousin a bunch of manicure stuff (nail trimming kit, fun polish, and some nail art tools). Other options I considered for her were the new Justin Bieber perfume, make-up, and other cosmetic-y type stuff.
For those questioning Starbucks gift cards for a 14 year old, remember that most high schools start at about 7:30 around here. When I was in high school, I was usually up and out the door before either of my parents, and definitely needed a caffeine kick to start my day. |

My 14 yr old is into Dr. Who, so I got her a book that summarizes all the episodes. She also wanted funky pencils and a classy journal that didn't have "journal" plastered on the front - found a nice leather one at Barnes & Noble. New pjs are good too.
My kids are rebelling against A&F due to the controversy over selling skinny sizes only. |
| Got my 14yo daughter a gold necklace with her name in script style. Six months later and she has hardly ever taken it off and wears it in school, sports, etc |
