ANY IDEAS ARE SOOOOOO APPRECIATED?
I am clueless with this age... |
| i-tunes, anything Twilight, magazine subscription, make-up, gift cards, movie tickets |
| Mom of 15-year-old here. I think 19:05 has covered it pretty well. |
| check with her mom first before giving make-up - I would be really annoyed if my 14 year old was given make up. |
| you should give them freedom and let them go out with their friends also money so they could go shopping let them be with there bf or a ipod etc... |
|
Ways of giving freedom that appeal to 14-year-olds (or at least did to mine): Metro SmartCard; Visa gift card (also works online, which cash doesn't).
If you think that buying experiences is more valuable than buying things, consider trapeze lessons, a session with you at a rock climbing gym, a sports event, a show, a meal at a nice restaurant together. |
|
Love the Visa giftcard suggestion instead of cash. Being able to use it online is useful to a teen that doesn't drive yet.
Sephora gift card. Or something gifty (like a makeup bag) from Sephora that she can exchange for makeup/perfume/whatever. itunes gift card. Depending on whether you know her style, a winter scarf and gloves from a department store she can return it to. |
And how old are you, sweetie? |
I like these ideas, with the caveat that most 14-year-olds have been to many rock-climbing birthday parties by this age, at one of the several rock climbing centers in the area. So the lessons would have to teach something besides "here's how to strap on the gear and be safe." I'm sure you can probably find lessons that go beyond the basic party instructions, if you specify that's what you want. |
Why be snarky? She sounds like a 14 year old, so her contribution is pretty useful to this thread that otherwise most likely has 30+ year olds saying what 14 year olds like. Her suggestions of an iPod and money are good suggestions. |
|
home made gift basket with things like make-up face wash cozy socks some nail polish hair products ect. some thing like that is nice
|
| Silver jewelry - a Tiffany necklace (tiny) got an extremely good reaction. Monogrammed bag could be special, too. |
|
Obviously depends on the personality of the kid, but my 14 year old loves cozy socks, comfy jammies that she can lounge around in. Girly bath stuff from a place like Plush. Movie tickets. Are her ears pierced--earrings., other fun jewelry.
Starbucks gift card. |
Really? For a 14 yo? |
Really. Are you telling me you don't see hordes of teenagers in Starbucks all the time? |
