Yes, I know. I linked to it in the "rabid" vax thread:
http://www.cfr.org/interactives/GH_Vaccine_Map/#map We really don't need another vaccination thread--two brewing in off topic and one in Gen'l Parenting b/c the trolls are coming out of the woodwork. |

We vaccinated our child but were scared the entire time and didn't do more than two at a time.
While more research has been done to help alleviate the fear that vaccines can cause autism, this was not the case a few years ago. There was a very real reason to be worried. Additionally, vaccines do cause reactions and aren't right for every child. If you are worried about your child getting a disease, you should vaccinate them. When people say that children should be taken away from parents who do not vaccinate, guess who really looks crazy? Most people who are so upset that parents don't vaccinate are sheep who go along with whatever they are told and are mad when others don't follow behind them. I'm not saying I agree with parents who do not vaccinate (and we DID vaccinate - but slowly). I just think these harsh statements don't help anyone at all. |
Eh, I roll my eyes a little at delayed schedules, but at least they are vaccinating. Delayed vaxxers aren't even close to being the same animal as no vaxers. |

For those who are so critical of people who do not vaccinate, I'd be interested to know if you do all vaccines or just the ones the dr recommends? Many would say you are risking TB coming back if you have not vaccinated against that.
How many of you bother with the TB vaccine? Very few of you did it I'm sure. You took a calculated risk (or blindly followed the pediatrician's advice without asking the right questions). So if you aren't vaccinating against TB, you have also contributed to the possibility of a world wide epidemic. You just didn't think it would affect you so you didn't do it. You aren't any different from the parents who don't vaccinate. |
Who's a sheep? You are heavily involved in a movement generated by an MD who was trying to improve his business as an expert witness and you're calling other people sheep? Wakefield made thousands of dollars in a conspiracy with British trial lawyers. That's been proven. He's been stripped of his license in the UK. His research has been retracted by the journals that published it. It's been proven false, but you STILL believe it. |
Oh please, this makes no sense. So if you don't do "all" the vaccines available in the world, you are being a hypocrite? In what universe does that make sense? And by the way, TB already is a world wide epidemic. In countries in which this epidemic is happening, it makes sense to get the vaccine. While my children do the test every year, I think even that is pretty ridiculous. I have only known one person in my life who had TB and that person worked with people who had AIDs back in the early 90s. |

When I went for my college physical I was found to have latent TB from the pinprick test. I had to take Izoniazid (sp?) for a year. The university had a medical school and I was called in for tracking every month. They said they did this to every student with latent TB, but I never met anyone else who had it latent or otherwise there or anywhere else.
TB is bad enough it is worth the test although every other year would seem sufficient. |
