Son in Pre-K and frustrated with DCPS organization already.

It's annoying whether your child is in free Pre K or kindergarten or the grade.

Do you mean last year when they cancelled a conference day because we had too many snow days?

Yes, I think your expectations are too high. Stuff happens and maybe you're not aware of a legitimate reason behind it. Yes it's frustrating. But does it "reek of incompetence"? Wow!

OP, you're an incredibly annoying pill. Really.

Calendar? You had a calendar?

First TWO YEARS at a now highly sought after charter we had NO CALENDAR AT ALL. You never knew anything... when were parent teacher conferences? Prof dev't days? Field trips? end of school? Nope. The teacher would snag you in the hall to tell you if you were lucky, or you overheard an after school care provider asking another parent if they wanted to sign up for all day care.

We pushed the administration to do better. Finally we got a calendar the next year earlier, after school had already started.

And now of course, when you entitled newby whiners who have your kids in preK, they have the calendar entirely planned out for the whole year and you can get it in the summer. And you complain because one date changes.

Eye roll.

Really? Your charter had no calendar at all???? I'm shocked!!!! Eye roll. That's to be expected from a place that just opened their doors.

DCPS has been around for a LONG time and they are basically copying info from last year. Yeah, they can do better. And it was 7 dates, not 1.

I have heard of private school calendars changing though, due primarily to weather/power issues
