it seems kind of ridic to go to LONDON for a BAT MIZTVAH anyways, pregnant or not! |
+1 if you don't want to go, don't go. But you can travel at 33 weeks with a doctor's note. And customs is not the issue -- it's immigration. They're not the same thing. |
Why? |
I'd go. |
Assuming an uncomplicated pregnancy, yes, I certainly would. I enjoyed business travel by air through week 37 with two pregnancies and would love any excuse to go to London. Also, most airlines do NOT impose any restrictions on someone traveling at 33 weeks pregnant. British Airways requests a doctor's letter for passengers beyond 7 months, and allows travel through 36 weeks. Virgin Atlantic also allows travel through 36 weeks. Most others allow through 39 weeks, after which they require a doctor's note (and FWIW, this is generally enforced through an "honor" system). I wish people would stop spreading uninformed rumors about airlines "not allowing" women in their third trimester to fly. Much of that information is, rightly, very outdated. |
Obviously you could go, but I would not. My co-worker went on a "babymoon" to Hawaii at about 34 weeks, delivered prematurely, and all was well until she got a hospital bill for $38K for an out of network delivery with some extra time hospital time for the baby. |
I went at 22 weeks and I wouldn't do it again. The flight is long. Your back will ache. You ankles will swell and you will
be exhausted. |
My dr said only go where you are willing to have your baby. I would not go, and I would not let dh go. What if you develop some of the conditions that happen at the end of pg like pre-clampsia. My babies came at 35 weeks and 38 weeks. I was set to travel quite a bit with baby #2, but developed placenta previa, so I was on bed rest from 26 weeks on. |
