Last summer when the earthquake hit for the few seconds that it happened I was with a very unpleasant, abusive relative. Ok, it was my mother. My kids were on the other side of town. I've never felt so trapped in my life. My overriding instinct was to abandon her and run out of the house, jump in my car and not stop until I got to them. (they are 12-7, 4 kids) I did not move out of fear of the wrath of my mother. Fight or flight is a very powerful instinct, but I was conflicted. I think this guy has got some inner conflict about his GF and kid on a primal level that he will never be able to overcome. It may even be possible that he does not believe the kid is really his. What ever it is THIS was a deal breaker. She will wake and realize this once she gets over her schock that she survived and hopefully ditch this loser forever.

I'm glad this has been brought up because I've been disturbed about this loser of a dad - it's bad enough that he left the baby on the floor. But that he got into this truck and drove away? That she had to call him to get him to return? I feel terrible for her and her kids. It seemed on the interview when she responded to the question about how did she feel when he proposed....she wasn't ecstatic. He probably only proposed because he realized what a loser he was to leave. But whether he'll do some soul searching and have inner growth....he doesn't seem swift enough to have those insights.

I dove in front of a moving car to save my children. DH was pushing them out of Sam's club and was nearly to our car when they were nearly hit. The driver just wasn't watching where she was going (cell phone) and she started to swerve into them. I never thought about it. I just jumped in front of her car and banged on her hood. She wasn't going very fast and she hit the brakes as soon as I banged on her hood. I never considered the danger of what I was doing.

As a kid I jumped into a pool (with a cover) to save my sister who had fallen in. Again, I didn't give it any thought, I just did it.

When that earthquake hit last year I was the first person to call the school to check on the kids. That's where my impulse was. If the school had needed my help I would have been there in five minutes.

This just seems to be the way I am wired and it's not the wiring for self preservation. That man seemed to have the flight and not the fight response and I don't know if it truly speaks for his character or not. I can't say because I haven't been in that kind of situation. I can only assume I wouldn't have done that based on my past responses in emergency situations.

what i dont care for is entertaining their line of argument. the common person on here actually addresses these peoples "points" and a back and forth ensues. i dont care to break down why the hell i used the word bitch to the poster disturbed by me using it. fuck them. they just want to bloviate and bore the fuck out of me as to why they are above it all to not use the word. im not interested in that conversation.
