Someone please explain the term WASP to me?

Old man Kennedy may have aspired to be like the WASPs, but no way could he become one with his background. I admire much of what he accomplished for his family, but you can't change or buy your ancestors.

So to be a WASP, do you have to be 100% of the acronyms? For example, my DH is a WASP, but he is married to me, who is not white, not Anglo-Saxon, and not Protestant. Would our hapa children qualify as WASP due to their father's heritage?

This should really ruffle some feathers, but Virginia Tech is generally considered WASP. This may not be as true today, but it was 20 years ago. Virginia as a state is traditionally WASP.

A lot of people don't get what WASP means, they are definitely not bible thumpers.

I'm WASP: I'm white, of Anglo-Saxon descent and I'm Lutheran.
