Wow. I was always on the fence about manis/pedis and couldn't really justify the expense anyway. Now I will surely never go.
It just occurred to me that my mom, who frequently gets pedicures, must have toenail fungus. Three of her toes on both of her feet are thick, green, discolored and misshapen. Yes ladies, she frequently gets pedicures and has never been turned away. |
I've only gotten one pedicure in my life (Red Door Spa in Fairfax Corner) and I LOVED it. It took the lady nearly an hour and she did a fantastic job, but I've heard too many things about nail fungus, infections etc., so I never got one afterwards. I bought a professional tool set and I do my own pedicure at home. I get compliments on my pretty toes all the time and best of all, it is free. I do make DH look after the kids while I take an hour to do my toes and hands. When he complains, I show him the bill from Red Door and he doesn't say another word.

Where do you buy a professional tool set from? I looked online and was confused by the options... |
| I bought mine on a trip to Germany. It was expensive, but so worth it. You could probably call a nail salon or a beauty school and ask for recommendations or maybe Sally's Beauty Supply? |
