Federal government shutdown

How about the taxation/inflation trolls take a break and we get back to the odds of a shutdown? Someone told it could happen for the weekend April 9-10 but then back to normal the 11th.

Bummer. Three weeks would be nice.

1st, cut the DOD budget in half,
2nd, cut the budgets for both wars in half
3rd, make coporations like GE ($14 Billion profit) pay their fair share in taxes since currently they pay zilch.

Amen to all that! End corporate tax breaks immediately and the country will be just fine!

Yeah, right. Your best people won't take a 30% pay cut. You will lose your good ones, and be stuck with the losers.

Looks like spelling instruction has already been cut 30%.

But smart ass comments are still on the budget uncut.

Still, it is pretty funny to be lectured about competitiveness by someone who can't even spell the word.

Oscar Wilde and Noel Coward are amused.

Here are my guesses for the length of a shutdown:

1. one week or less: 80 %.
2. two weeks: 10 %.
3. three weeks or more: 1 %.

My guess for no shut down is less than 1% chance.

Man oh man will this suck for my job. We are involved in the tourism industry and are freaking out about the ramifications of most sites being closed in DC.

I'm a fed and wouldn't mind if it's a one-week shutdown......other than that, we can't afford it!

I forgot to add that I too believe a shutdown for at least 1 week and the numbers above......

I won't mind a week but when DW and I do the math (we are both feds) it does not look good to spend all that money minus the income!
